The following day we left for Christchurch our last stop before heading home. We had heard that Christchurch is very English looking. Again we found a campground on the edge of town and took the local bus to the town center. The bus system has a GPS tracking system so that at the bus stands you can push a button on a box that will tell you how far away the next bus is and how long it will take to reach your location. It was very accurate. We spent most of time roaming around the city center the first day and the second day we went to the Antarctica Center. This is where all the expeditions to the Antarctica stage and leave for the trip south. The US has a huge facility here. The tourist building is set up as a museum documenting the history of the exploration of Antarctica with all the equipment and clothing worn during the explorations throughout history. Some of the early clothing does not look like it would keep you very warm.
