Martinique 2010, Part 3
We left St Pierre to head back to Ste. Anne and crossed the island past Mt Pelee.
We left St. Anne by boat and headed to the west side of the island to stop at Grand Anse d’Arlet. The wind was light (as it has been our entire time in Martinique – very unusual) so we had a slow downwind sail. Grand Anse d’Arlet is a little tourist village with a board walk lined with cafes. Very Pretty.
The main anchorage is on the south side of the bay and was very crowded se we anchored on the north side of the bay. As there was little to no wind our full keel boats (Native Dancer is full keel also) got pushed around by the currents, and we at odd directions occasionally. Also the light wind made us susceptible to rolling so we left after two days and headed back to St. Lucia.
