Day 22 Our last long travel day we decide to stay Gunnedah, the self proclaimed Koala Capital of the World at S.30.978, E 150.26. As we travel towards Gunnedah we are heading more easterly towards the coast and the landscape is getting greener. We are starting to see wheat fields and passing thru towns where the main feature of the town is the grain silos. In Gunnedah we visit the town owned Porcupine Reserve.
Day 23 Our last day we head back to Moriset to spend our last evening with Terry and Marjatta. S 33.1 degrees E 151.5 degrees. On the way we went through the town of Scone which is the race horse capital of Queensland. We passed many stud farms and brood mare farms. One very large estate is owned by a sheik from the Emirates. Day 24 Drop off the camper and head to the airport We arrived at the airport early which is good thing as the Melbourne Cup was held that day. It’s the biggest horse races event in the country and everyone stops to watch it.
